My interest in cemeteries does not lie in the macabre and the paranormal. Rather, I love that cemeteries tell a story. As a whole they tell the story of their community – the faiths that have been practiced, the socioeconomic climate, changes in fashion and taste,  and often times the pioneers of the area.

This blog aims to share interesting cemeteries and grave markers. Occasionally, the story behind the names on the stone will be told using publicly available information and facts. Whilst it is tempting to weave a narrative from the facts it must be limited to verifiable evidence.
